Arriving at the Rock....

After an excellent sleep, we woke to a clear, sunny, albeit cool morning.  We packed up the covered wagon and headed towards Uluru.

We passed through the tiny settlement of Kulgera, people do strange things when they are bored!

We continued up the highway to Erldunda, where we stopped for fuel and a cuppa.     The photo isn’t particularly level, my hands were shaking…….

Anyway after offering to leave Bev as security (which they declined………) we turned off the Stuart Highway for the short hop to Uluru.

As we travelled west we soon caught a glimpse of Mt Connor, which is a rather impressive land form on the 1,000,000+ acre Curtin Springs Property.

We stopped for lunch and a wander at Curtin Springs Roadhouse.    I took a pic of the Bowser Girl, no wonder she was smiling……. (luckily, we didn’t need fuel this time.)

After lunch we continued our westward journey, and after an hour or so we caught our first glimps of the iconic ‘Rock’ and shortly after a view of the Olgas.

We made our way to the Yalara Resort caravan park and were set up in no time.  A relaxing afternoon, making plans for the next 3 days.  We’re sure there will be something to see in the area…..
